HAPPY DAYS

Happy Days are those days when the bills are paid, kids have their school supplies, the refrigerator is packed, house chores are done and you have extra spending money.

Happy Days consist of good health, supportive family, true friends and a good paying job.

Happy Days begin with the sun shinning to give you ample energy, to the sun setting in order to get you going to the moon beaming to set your romantic mood.

Oh Happy Day! Is the day we are all living in harmony, no wars, no sibling rivalry, no skin color to divide us and everyone can talk and get along.

Happy Days should last seven days a week, 24 hours a day!

FORBIDDEN

Temptation is real.  There may come a point in life where you desire, lust and dream of being in a relationship with someone you are forbidden to be with.  Often we just rely on the fantasy of the unknown.  The idea of wanting something or someone you just cannot have.  It's a high in its own right.

Forbidden touch, smell or look, of a man or woman can make your heart race, bring you to your knees or send you crying.  The desire to want or need to hold that person can be painful but there are boundaries.  It's not cheating to look, stare or wink.  But it's forbidden to go all the way.  Forbidden love if it were meant to be then it would have been.

Respect what is, do not be tempted by what is forbidden.

"Thank you for being a friend, traveled down the road and back again. Your heart is true your a pal and a confidant and if you through a party invited everyone you knew.  You would be the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say thank you for being a friend".

Our first best friends are our siblings and cousins.  It's women friendship month and I want to thank all the women that have been so influential in my life-mother, aunts, sisters, cousins and enormous female friends.  It's always a pleasure to be supportive of one another and mean what we say to one another.

As women we should stand united, let go of pettiness and form a bond to conquer the world.  I say thank you to my women friends.

Different Strokes

I'm a fool for things that remind me of my childhood, because it was so memorable for me.  However, they're are those with not so fortunate past but they have so much resilience.  How can we as a people direct change as we live in a society in which children today lack passion, energy and the drive to achieve? I am challenging us adults to make a difference, mentor a teen, lead by example and get them to set tangible goals in life.

We all have a story to tell.  Allow the young to voice theirs, for we all have a different stroke to move this world!

WELCOME BACK!

It's Labor Day! It's summer ending, it's school new beginning.  Perhaps a new job, a new task, a new adventure.  All I can think of is the theme song to welcome back Kotter;

"Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out.  Welcome back.  To the same old place that you laughed about.  Well the names have all changed since you hung around, but those dreams have remained and they're turned around.  Who'd have thought they'd lead ya here where we need ya.  Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot.  Welcome Back"

That song brings back smiles, memories, laughter, hope and a promise of a better tomorrow.  Knowing you can dream big and push those dreams to reality and know you can always return to your roots with open arms in love!  Knowing you can start new again and always be welcomed back with the faces of familiarity means everything.

Usher summer off, welcome Indian Summer in and welcome back your thinking cap and reach for your goals.

FOOL IN LOVE

If I allow you to explain then I allow you to continue to lie.  If I allow you to look at me I am allowing myself to be fooled by your words.  Why do fools for in love? Why do birds sing so gay?  There is no answer to why we accept to be mistreated, knowing the other person is doing and saying something wrong.

Love and being in love is a funny thing.  We expect loyalty from the other person because we have been given it to them but all we get in return is lies and deceit.  Walk away, you deserve better, is what we are often told by our friends but its easier said the done.  Who can truly walk away?  We are taught to stand strong and fight for love.  Hey, that's why we are fools, because never once have I see. Love fight back!

SUMMER LOVE

Those eyes when he looks at me pierce into my soul.  His smile lights a room.  The way he touches my hand sends sparks up and down my spine.  When he walks through a room my stomach has butterflies.  He says hi and I get tongue tied.  My Summer crush how do I say I'm feeling you?

The smell of fresh lemons, mint and sugar.  I hate that summer is coming to an end.  I hope I can get a kiss, a hug and the words keep in touch.  Oh who can't identify with falling in love for those brief summer months?

I miss you, I love you, I can't stand you, but I want you.  Emotions of a 12 year old, so confusing, so lost in love.

Wow, I miss those days and years of thinking I knew what love was.  Does anyone know what it means to be in love today?
